BIC and Alba sign new long-term partnership agreement
Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East', and Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), the world's largest smelter on one site, announced today that they have signed a new partnership agreement, building on the long-standing cooperation between the two parties. The partnership was formalised in a signing ceremony held at the BIC premises in Sakhir attended by BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, Alba CEO Ali Al Baqali, and other senior management officials from both parties. The new partnership builds on the long-standing cooperation between the parties which has been in place since February of 2009. Through this collaboration, Alba will continue to benefit from a strategic platform at the Circuit which delivers value across a range of international and local markets. On this occasion, Alba Chief Executive Officer Ali Al Baqali, stated: 'The renewed partnership with Bahrain International Circuit isn't just a continuation, it's a statement of shared strength and vision. Together we amplify Bahrain's presence on the global stage, driving mutual success and showcasing our shared ambition for excellence.' BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa said: 'We are extremely proud to have signed a new agreement with Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. as long-term partners of the circuit. 'We are especially honoured to have Alba as a partner, based on their status as a flagship company for The Kingdom of Bahrain and global leaders in their industry. 'BIC and Alba have enjoyed a partnership over the past 16 years and it is with great delight that we continue our affiliation. We look forward to continue benefitting mutually from our partnership over the period to come.'

Ministry Of Education Honours NMS For Outstanding Performance In TIMSS 2023
The Honorable Minister of Education, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma honored New Millennium School by facilitating the school principal and science and mathematics educators for the outstanding performance of the students in TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) 2023. The school has been placed in the high category for Science and Mathematics. Even where there is a drop in International Average in 2023 TIMSS as compared to 2019 TIMSS, the NMS average has remarkably shown an upward trend. The school average in the TIMSS is much higher than the International Average. The results reflect the school's strong commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching methods, and a robust STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum. TIMSS, conducted by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), is administered every four years and assesses trends in student performance across more than 60 countries. The assessment provides valuable data that helps schools and policymakers improve educational outcomes. The school management expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education for giving an opportunity to be the part of TIMSS Exam and for facilitating the mentors by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma. Exhibition World Bahrain Takes Part in IMEX Frankfurt 2025
Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) wrapped up its participation at IMEX Frankfurt 2025, held from 20 to 22 May in Frankfurt, Germany. As one of the leading international exhibitions for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry, IMEX Frankfurt 2025 brought together thousands of professionals and suppliers from across the globe. Representing EWB at the event were Alan Pryor, General Manager; Huda Al Shamlan, Director of Marketing, Communications and Partnerships; and Bjorn Hufkie, Director of Business Development. Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) was also represented by Consultant and Advisor Dr. Ali Follad; and Ahmed Lari, a Marketing and Promotion Specialist at BTEA. The delegation presented Bahrain's flagship exhibition and conference venue, highlighting its advanced infrastructure and adaptable spaces designed to accommodate a diverse range of events—from large-scale conventions and exhibitions to smaller corporate meetings, live events and entertainment, cultural gatherings, and private functions and galas. Over the course of three days, the EWB team engaged with international industry stakeholders, including event planners, potential international clients, and other contributors to the wider industry such as association representatives and educators. These interactions contributed to strengthening Bahrain's presence in the global MICE sector and supported EWB's strategic objective of positioning itself as a preferred destination for high-profile international events. Her Excellency Sara Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and Chairperson of EWB, remarked on the significance of the event: 'IMEX Frankfurt provides a valuable annual platform to promote Bahrain's offerings in the international MICE and business events landscape. Our participation supports EWB's broader ambition to attract world-class events and create long-term value for Bahrain's tourism and business sectors. The connections made during this event pave the way for future collaboration and growth.' Participation in IMEX Frankfurt forms part of EWB's ongoing efforts to build partnerships, enhance market visibility, and contribute to Bahrain's economic diversification strategy. With over 4,000 global meeting planners and more than 3,000 suppliers in attendance, the event offered a constructive forum for business development and industry insight.
